Skirmish bills itself as the largest paintball facility in the world, and the numbers back the claim up: more than 50 distinct maps spread across roughly 750 acres of the Pocono Mountains. The variety is the real draw. Open ground and dense woods, creeks and swamps, villages, forts, cargo containers, downed aircraft, speedball arenas, and two full castles. No experience is needed and gear is included, which is why so many first-timers get talked into their first game here.

Before you go
Call ahead. Walk-on hours, rental availability and minimum ages move around by season, and plenty of fields only open midweek for booked groups. If it's your first time, ask whether they run low-impact paint — it changes the experience a lot for younger players.
Budget roughly $35–60 for entry, rental gear and a starter bag of paint at most US fields, with extra paint sold on site. Group and birthday packages usually work out cheaper per head. Minimum age is typically 10, dropping to about 8 where a field runs low-impact paint. Wear long sleeves, long trousers and closed-toe shoes.
