Cousins runs about 20 acres of wooded ground on Arthur Kill Road, with hills, streams and built bunkers, and it is the closest real outdoor paintball to Manhattan. There are woodsball, speedball and scenario courses on site. Open play is weekend-based with weekdays reserved for booked groups of ten or more, and the age tiers are unusually well thought out: standard paintball from nine, low-impact for seven to nine, and gel blast for younger kids. Before you go
Call ahead. Walk-on hours, rental availability and minimum ages move around by season, and plenty of fields only open midweek for booked groups. If it's your first time, ask whether they run low-impact paint — it changes the experience a lot for younger players.
Budget roughly $35–60 for entry, rental gear and a starter bag of paint at most US fields, with extra paint sold on site. Group and birthday packages usually work out cheaper per head. Minimum age is typically 10, dropping to about 8 where a field runs low-impact paint. Wear long sleeves, long trousers and closed-toe shoes.
