Command Decisions has been in business since the mid-1980s, which makes it one of the oldest continuously operating paintball fields in the United States. Owners Ken Spencer and Andrew Ferguson have shaped roughly 70 acres outside Taylorsville over the years. It is best known as the home of Fulda Gap, a NATO-versus-Warsaw-Pact scenario game that has drawn over a thousand players and a fleet of paintball tanks, and the site is set up for it: camping on a parking area far larger than most scenario fields, and no charge for spectators.

Before you go
Call ahead. Walk-on hours, rental availability and minimum ages move around by season, and plenty of fields only open midweek for booked groups. If it's your first time, ask whether they run low-impact paint — it changes the experience a lot for younger players.
Budget roughly $35–60 for entry, rental gear and a starter bag of paint at most US fields, with extra paint sold on site. Group and birthday packages usually work out cheaper per head. Minimum age is typically 10, dropping to about 8 where a field runs low-impact paint. Wear long sleeves, long trousers and closed-toe shoes.
